What was your first experience with Launch SA?
Someone had told me about 1 Million Cups. I was new to San Antonio so thought I would check it out because I hadn’t heard of anything like it. It was a great experience. I met someone who introduced me to someone else who had similar interest both personally and with our business ventures. A year later she and I are good friends always having each others back, which is invaluable to me!
What programs have you participated in through Launch SA and what impact have they made to your business?
1 Million Cups seems so simple, but it is very influential. You have the opportunity to be surrounded by people who are passionate about their venture and it is a great opportunity to make unique connections and be inspired.
The Lean Start-up Method class was a great way to look at a business plan in a different light.
The most impactful program I have participated in was the Venture Challenge. It allowed me to look at my venture in an entirely new light. By looking at RATIO with a more rounded view I was able to see where exactly I wanted to go and how I was going to get there. The money we won has allowed me to expand my business in ways that continue to grow. It was also amazing to see my peers grow and learn with their ventures. I also appreciate all the speakers who came in. It always helps to hear from other perspectives with different experiences.
Describe how Launch SA has been influential to your success as a company.
Launch SA is a place you can go for answers, support, educational resources and community. There are so many different aspects that go into creating a business and Launch SA can always help. Even if they don’t know the answer, they can help point you in the right direction or know someone who can.
How would you recommend others should plug in to the resources at Launch SA?
I think 1 Million Cups is a great introduction to Launch SA. You can meet people in a natural environment and get plugged into what you need or where you could help others.
